Hello, my name is Becki Cash. I am a former Fort Loudoun Middle Lady Brave who enjoyed playing basketball, softball, cheerleading, and many clubs. In middle school, I fell in love with reading. I was so excited that I could travel to so many places just by reading a book! I figured out that Math was a bit of a struggle for me, so I really had to put extra effort in doing my best.
 
I have been teaching for 15 years, and have been at Fort Loudoun for 9 years. I want to instill a love for reading in my students, and hopefully produce some great writers! I wish great success for all my students.
 
I am also a wife to Bobby, mother to Hayden, who is a US Marine, and grandmother to Jaxson. My fur babies are Bentley, my miniature Schnauzer, and Scoot, a Shih-Tzu. We enjoy traveling, going to the beach, taking cruises, going to the movies, and relaxing at home. I love going out to dinner with family and friends, attending my nieces softball games, and spending time with family.

Grade Cards will be sent home Thursday, October 19th. Be sure to ask your child!

AR POINTS DUE OCTOBER 5TH!!

ALL AR POINTS ARE DUE THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5TH. I WILL RUN MY REPORT AT 3:30PM, AND FRIDAY I WILL TALK TO INDIVIDUALS WHO DID NOT MEET THEIR GOAL TO EXPLAIN THEIR GRADE.

9 WEEKS TEST

STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE PART 1 OF OUR 9 WEEKS TEST ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3RD.
 
STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE PART 2 ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 4TH. ANY MAKE-UPS WILL BE GIVEN THURSDAY & FRIDAY.

SCHOLASTIC SCOPE 2 NONFICTION TEXT. STUDENTS MAY NOT USE THEIR NOTES. 100 POINT GRADE IN SKYWARD.

SCHOLASTIC SCOPE ARTICLE "FROM WAR TO AMERICA" QUIZ. STUDENTS MAY NOT USE THEIR NOTES. 100 POINT GRADE.

STORY TEST TUESDAY 9/12

STUDENTS WILL HAVE AN OPEN NOTE TEST OVER "THANK YOU MA'AM" BY LANGSTON HUGHES. THIS IS A 100 POINT GRADE IN SKYWARD.

STAR ASSESSMENT

 STUDENTS WILL TAKE THE STAR ASSESSMENT AGAIN ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH. WE HOPE TO SEE IMPROVEMENT IN THE READING LEVEL.

AR 9 WEEK GOAL

STUDENTS WERE GIVEN THEIR AR GOAL FOR THIS 9 WEEKS. THIS COUNTS AS 2 SEPARATE PROJECT GRADES AND WILL BE DUE BY OCTOBER 4TH. THEY MAY CHECK THEIR PROGRESS IN ACCELERATED READER.

STAR Assessment

Students will take the STAR Assessment on Tuesday/Wednesday. This will provide their reading levels, and give us their 9 week goal for AR points. 

"Seventh Grade" Short Story

 On Tuesday, Aug. 22nd we will be diving into our textbook. We will review Elements of Plot prior to reading our short story. Students will learn new vocabulary, practice finding the Elements of Plot, and do a Text Analysis of the structure,and author's point of view.
