Fort Loudoun Middle School Small Animal Science course is designed to educate students in the care and anatomy of small animals.
At the end of the course, the student is expected to: ● Demonstrate workplace readiness skills. ● Identify essential traits of leadership. ● Explore the different types of supervised agricultural experience programs. ● Describe the opportunities in the pet care industry. ● Explore safety and handling in the small animal industry. ● Demonstrate respect for and safe treatment of classroom animals. ● Identify and describe the male and female animal reproductive systems. ● Care for goats, chickens, guineas, pigs, and rabbits. ● List and describe employment opportunities that require a knowledge of animal science.
