Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 4:30-7:00 pm, we will have Parent Conference Night. You may receive a call to schedule an appointment with your child's homeroom teacher to discuss grades, behavior, etc. You can also communicate with your child's homeroom teacher to schedule an appointment yourself. You can access the email addresses of your child's teachers by going to our Staff page and clicking on the link to the email. We will also behaving our Spring Book Fair all week long. Stop in during conference night and pick up some good books for summer reading. If you have any questions about book fair, please communicate with Mrs. Fulgham via email.

Today and tomorrow, Girls Volleyball tryouts will take place at the Philadelphia Gym (See the calendar note for more information), and the Boys soccer tryouts will be held at 4:00 pm at the FLMS soccer field, behind the school. Boys must bring their own cleats to soccer tryouts.

Our Winter Social Dance will be this Friday in the FLMS Gymnasium. The cost is $5. Snacks will be provided and drinks will be available for purchase. Come have fun, dress up or down (dress code applies though), and socialize with your friends. This is only for current FLMS students!

Last week, each grade level honored their A, B, and AB Honor Roll students. Many students were also given an MIB award. This went to the Most Improved Braves. These students improved their grades, over the 1st nine weeks grades, in at least two of their classes. Way to go Braves! Keep setting those goals to make yourself better!

On February 11, the FLMS Eighth Graders will visit LHS to tour the school. FLMS will tour the school in the morning and will be back by lunch. Jamie Ensley will be coming to talk to the 8th graders during support 1 on January 24th to start getting them thinking about the transition to HS and go over graduation requirements.
That night, parents and students are invited to come to an informational question/answer meeting about the transition to High School. Watch here for more information.

Our first practice will be this Thursday, February 7, 3:30-5. We're trying to take advantage of the weather forecast for Thursday, rather than hold practice on Friday. I hope this is not an inconvenience for any of you. Going forward our practices will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, 3:30-5.

Last week we had three of our FLMS Staff Honored. Ms. King was honored by WBIR for the Educator of the Week (to be aired Feb. 5), Mrs Bowman was honored by the Central Office as the Loudon County Middle School Teacher of the Year, and Ms. Hamilton was honored by Coordinated School Health who presented her with a grant to create a comfortable and safe area for her counseling office. This week, we were just honored as a Silver RTIB2 Model of Distinction School! Everyday we truly do #WhatEverItTakes to make all students successful. Way to go, Braves!
