I have been a special education teacher in Loudon County Schools since 1992. I have taught students at Greenback School, Chestnut Ridge Learning Center/Loudon County Technology Center, Loudon High School and Steekee Elementary. With my new position at Fort Loudoun Middle School, I get to teach 8th graders for the first time in my career! I have a passion for working with students with special needs and have stayed in touch with many of my former students through Special Olympics.
I am married to Raymond Smith. I am the mother of three fine young men: Jack, Connor & Sean. When my sons were young, I volunteered to help their sports teams by serving as the announcer for Lenoir City High School Boys Soccer Team, Tellico Village Swim Team, Lenoir City/Loudon County Swim Team, Fort Loudoun Middle School Track team and Loudon High School Track Team. In fact if you come to a track meet at Loudon High School this spring, the voice you hear on the loudspeaker will by mine!
I love to sing, dance and perform in theater. I often sing, dance and act silly in my classroom to keep my students engaged and learning!
