I first knew that I wanted to work with kids when I was in high school. While in college, I worked in daycare centers and taught children's classes in my church. After graduating with my bachelor's degree, I worked in a residential treatment center with behaviorally and emotionally disturbed children. I think I learned as much working there for four years as I did completing my degree! While completing my master's degree, I went on to work as an in-home counselor and clinical manager, which allowed me to work with whole family units instead of just children. I obtained my license as a professional counselor during this time, as well. After working in the mental health field for several years, I realized that I wanted to become a school counselor. Fort Loudoun Middle School is the perfect fit for me as it is similar in demographics to the school I attended while growing up. I love being the school counselor at Fort Loudoun Middle School.
