This is my 21st year teaching in Tennessee and my 18th year at Fort Loudoun Middle School/Philadelphia Elementary School. During my tenure in Loudon County Schools, the band program has shown considerable growth and success. The FLMS and PES Bands have consistently received Excellent and Superior ratings at area Concert Band Festivals and perform regularly as a part of the school community.
I was honored to be selected by my colleagues as the Fort Loudoun Middle School Teacher of the Year for the 2021-22 school year! Additionally, I was awarded Loudon County Schools Outstanding Middle School Educator of the Year for 2021-22.
I began playing flute in the 6th grade. I continued playing in my school band throughout middle school and high school. I played flute/piccolo and alto saxophone in the Miller High School Band, flute/piccolo in the district Chamber Winds Ensemble, and alto saxophone in the district High School Jazz Band.
I studied at the University of Regina earning a Bachelor of Music degree, and at the University of North Texas where I earned a Master of Music degree in Saxophone Performance with a minor in Conducting.
